Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar storage actually used by CertificateChaser, operated by Certificate Chaser. Questions: JackHartshorn@outlook.com. Last updated June 2026.

1. What we use

Strictly necessary — after you sign in we store an authentication token in your browser's localStorage (key "cc_token", removed on logout, expires after 8 hours). This is required for the app to work and is not used for tracking.
Stripe — when you subscribe you are taken to a checkout page hosted by Stripe (stripe.com). Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and to complete payment. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy and are only set on Stripe's pages.

2. What we do not use

CertificateChaser does not use analytics, advertising, social-media or other third-party tracking cookies. Because only strictly necessary storage is used, no cookie consent banner is required under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). If we introduce non-essential cookies in future we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

3. Managing storage

You can clear localStorage and cookies through your browser settings at any time; you will be signed out of CertificateChaser.
